Pastor Tom
By the end of the cholera epidemic in 2008/2009, Celebration Health had treated 15 000 patients, 15% of the 98 582 reported cases, and gave health education to over 100 000 people. Our work, however, has not stopped with the closure of the cholera camps. Through our partnership with The Coca– Cola Africa Foundation (TCCAF) and CitiHope International we have received over $9 million worth of medicines between July and December 2009. CitiHope has a track record of successful medical relief assistance in hotspots around the world, as well as strategic access to essential pharmaceuticals. TCCAF has for a long time been enabling communities in Africa to address social issues, by coordinating projects focusing on Water, Entrepreneurship, Education and Health as well as Humanitarian Relief programs, which have brought food aid, medical supplies and equipment to various parts of the continent.
We held 10 medical outreaches giving free medical treatment to 9200 people and conducted 120 free operations and 704 dental procedures. We also received over US$ 20 million worth of food, medicines, medical supplies and equipment from various donors which we distributed throughout the country. These partnerships will greatly enhance our capacity to mobilize resources and provide relief to distressed communities. Together, we continue to press on towards a healthy Zimbabwe.
